- What are Essential Oils?
Essential Oils are highly concentrated aromatic extracts derived from plants through distillation of a variety of plant material, although some plants are extracted via cold pressed process, CO2 extraction, or solvent extraction. Aromatic plants can be extracted from the following plant material: grasses, leaves, flowers, needles, twigs, peel of fruit, wood and roots.
- What are Hydrosols?
Hydrosols are the pure non-alcoholic distillate that is produced during the distillation process that also extracts the essential oils. Hydrosol simply means, 'hydro' or water and 'sol' or solution, that is, the water solution that contains some of the water-soluble micro-molecules of essential oil as well as water-soluble plant components. These micro-molecules of essential oil give the hydrosol its scent, and essential oil therapy and the plant components give the hydrosol its herbal or floral therapy. They are quite fragrant and have around a pH of 4.5 to 5.5.
- What is a Carrier Oil?
Carrier Oils (commonly known as massage/body/face oils) are plant based and usually cold pressed oils which nourish the outer layers of the skin, while providing valuable nourishing vitamins and fatty acids to the cellular structure within. Carrier Oils are commonly used as a base oil when diluting essential oils or essential oil blends.
- What is the difference between Certified Organic and Wildcrafted Oils?
Certified Organic - Grown on a farm that does not use pesticides or herbicides and adheres to the guidelines outlined by the USDA NOP Standards.
Wildcrafted - Grown and cultivated in the wild, and not commercially farmed
- What is the shelf life of your products?
Essential Oils: Approximately 2 years, depending on how you store them. Optimal storage conditions and exposure to oxygen will have an effect on that timeline.
Carrier Oils: Approximately 1 year, depending on how you store them. Optimal storage conditions and exposure to oxygen will have an effect on that timeline.
- How do you ship your products?
Orders are shipped within 2-3 days from the time you place your order, excluding weekends and holidays. Cut off time for the 2-3 day period is 12:00 PM PST. You will receive an email with your tracking number from either UPS or USPS when your order has shipped.
Packages sent to Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico will be subject to air shipping fees, as they are unable to use Flat Rate Ground Shipping. The available air shipping options and fees will be displayed during checkout. Our free shipping offer does not apply to these locations or any international orders.
We ship internationally. Shipping fees will vary depending on country and chosen shipping method. Orders over $250.00 will be shipped with signature required unless a request to ship without signature required is specified in email prior to shipment.
- How are your products packaged?
Organic Infusions bottle all of our pure essential oils in amber glass bottles (essential oils are NEVER put into plastic). All 5ml, 10 ml, and 1 oz (30 ml) bottles have a dropper top. Larger essential oils do not have dropper tops; however a separate pipette is included for ease of dispensing.
The tops are double sealed to protect against leakage. Additionally, we wrap each oil in bubble wrap prior to shipping.
Our Carrier (Jojoba, Almond, etc.) Oils are dispensed into PET plastic bottles. The tops have an inner liner seal, and the tops are double sealed to protect from leakage. Additionally, we wrap each oil in bubble wrap prior to shipping.
- What is your Return Policy?
We will allow returns ONLY if the product is UNOPENED. The customer is responsible for contacting Organic Infusions within 5 days of receiving your package to start the return process. There is a 20% re-stocking fee deducted from the returned item(s). We do not accept returns on opened product unless there is an error on our part. We will NOT accept returns if you do not like the aroma of a product.
If you want to try a product before buying in bulk, you must purchase a sample for evaluation and approval.If there is any damage to your shipment, or any missing items, please contact us ASAP so that we can help remedy the issue.
We require that you notify us before you ship your return back to us. We WILL NOT accept returns that are sent back without an issued RETURN AUTHORIZATION NUMBER.
- How are Backorders shipped?
Backorders are shipped within 2 weeks of purchase date unless otherwise notified.
